Malkiel Svei, EQ’s Founding partner has over twenty years’ experience working on high level real estate transactions. This includes over ten years as asset manager for GF Investments as well as managing American Landmark Properties operations in the Northeast. He has a proven track record for increasing occupancy and repositioning assets. Since 2007 Malkiel and his partners have owned a growing portfolio of Class A commercial office buildings. At Hamilton, Mr. Svei has cultivated broker relationships, managed all personnel and tenant relations as well as overseeing daily operations.
Mr. Svei has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Baruch College in New York City.
Partner/Chief Financial Officer
Pinny Borenstein, EQ’s Founding partner, has been active in the commercial office space for close to 10 years. He developed a niche expertise in financial analysis and real estate transactions through the acquisitions and daily management of Hamilton’s current portfolio. His position as the Chief Financial Officer for a portfolio of Class A commercial office buildings located in Syracuse, NY, has given him a keen understanding of the costs of operations and the underlying financials associated with commercial real estate. At Hamilton, Mr. Borenstein has cultivated investor partnerships, sourced deals, assisted in underwriting, and asset management.
Mr. Borenstein holds an MS in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
MANAGER, 250 CLINTON
Mr. Tait is responsible for the property management of Hamilton EQ’s entire Upstate NY office portfolio, from tenant relations, coordination of tenant construction, to building maintenance issues. Rick also plays an integral role with leasing by working closely with the leasing team with prospective tenants. Rick handles oversight and control of all aspects of building management, from environmental systems and security, to normal repairs, preventive maintenance, common area maintenance and supervision of the Upstate NY Property Management team.
Rick has over 30 years’ experience in commercial real estate building and property management, as well as 20 years of experience with the Pioneer Companies as Vice President of Property Management and Engineering Manager. He has extensive background in building operations, maintenance and disaster response and preparedness as well as experience in construction management and engineering. He holds degrees from Onondaga Community College and Syracuse University.
MANAGER, CAPITOL CENTER
Mr. Thompson is the General Manager for Capitol Center, a 460,000 SF Class A CBD Office Building in Columbia, SC. He is responsible for oversight of all building operations and maintenance, financial management, staff management, project management, contract negotiations, vendor management, and tenant retention. Chad also plays an integral role with leasing by working closely with the leasing team with prospective tenants. He is dedicated to providing sound and knowledgeable advice to ownership to maximize asset value while reducing the risk associated with asset ownership. Additionally, he is committed to ensuring excellent customer service to tenants through efficient operation of the building all the while ensuring the safety of the building and its occupants.
Chad has 20 years of Real Estate Management managing real estate assets in Central Business Districts in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Columbia. Prior to joining Capitol Center, Chad was the Real Estate Manager for the Meridian Building, another Class A building in Columbia, SC. His experience includes large organizations such as Jones Lang LaSalle, Grubb & Ellis, and CBRE; but also has experience working with private organizations. He holds degrees in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and is a CPM Candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management.
